Worrying About Losing The Battle Of The Bulge

It is no secret that trying to get rid of the extra pounds that a person is carrying can cause stress, and that is not helpful when dieting.. Always worrying is not a good thing to do. Many issues that arise by worrying are detrimental for a person. Stress can cause you to retain water which means it is harder to lose weight even if you are dieting and exercise. Stress can also affect your metabolism causing it to slow down. Because of this, a person must expend more energy than if there wasn’t as much stress. Stress can make you feel more tired thus making it harder to get out and get exercise. Some people use the term emotional eating. People turn to comfort foods to help lessen the pressure they are enduring and comfort foods are not always healthy, When a person feels burdened by problems it can result in a variety of unhealthy things that includes cardiac problems.

According to the advertising we see, all we have to do is listen to a bunch of experts to get rid of our unsightly belly bulge. If you are watching television late at night it is hard to miss the next great machine that will help you do the perfect six pack ab exercises. For only $19.95 you are guaranteed the perfect body in just thirty days. A simple phone call is made and we sit in anticipation. The anticipation of delivery is unbearable because of our desire to get rid of the weight. The reality is that these products are not effective unless we use it, and after the initial excitement recedes so does the amount of time spent with what we had bought. We start to worry even more than before, because we used up some part of are budget on something that is now useless because it is buried in the garage.

If it is not an infomercial that is selling some machine that gets us, it is the diet book that promises us the secret to how to lose weight fast that catches our eyes. Again we have good intentions and work very hard to get the needed food that the book suggests. We feel the stress of running around to several specialty shops to find the right food, carefully reading labels to make sure we know what we are eating. We feel stress when we expend all of this time and energy Despite our efforts to stay on a diet, some holiday or special event arrives and even though we want to follow the plan the lure of something else is too strong. We give into our wants, despite all the stress the decision causes. We feel stress after these occasions because of the choices that are made.

It does not help to feel stress when you are trying to lose weight, but it is hard to avoid. It is not reasonable to think that we can get rid of all the pressures in our lives, but we can lessen them, and when we do that it makes a weight loss program work better. What works for one individual, might not necessarily work for another. It is helpful if you can find a support group that will take some of the emotional weight that is carried when trying to lose some pounds. Others find that support by joining a chat group such as the ones that can be found on The biggest loser forum. Some people find support through music and spending quiet time alone. It is not important how a person controls their stress. It is important for a person to do this. Anyone who is able to reduce their stress, can shed the extra pound that they want to and will also be able to stick around this life longer because of it.
